A Meditation Retreat with Nonviolent Communication and Focusing
When: 9th to 11th May 2025
Where: An Tionól Cottage, Co. Galway
Contact: Marta Fabregat – info@martafabregat.com
There is a space between words where something deeper can be heard. A place where silence isn’t empty but alive, holding us with presence and allowing what truly wants to be expressed to emerge.
This retreat is an invitation to slow down, listen, and experience the transformative power of pausing.
Over three days, we will explore the alchemy of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Focusing, and meditative silence practices that help us connect more deeply with ourselves and others. In a world that moves fast and fills every gap with noise and distraction, this retreat offers a space where words can arise from a place of clarity, felt sense, and authentic connection.
Together, we will create a gentle, holding environment with:
- Spacious silence to deepen presence
- Focusing practices to listen beyond words
- Nonviolent Communication as a path to compassionate dialogue
- Meditation as a foundation for sensing and expressing from the heart
Our bodies hold an intelligence that often speaks before words do, through sensations, tensions, and subtle stirrings. Neuroscience shows that much of our decision-making and relational responses originate in the body, in implicit knowing rather than conscious thought. In Focusing practice, we learn to attune to this ‘felt sense’, a preverbal knowing that carries meaning and direction. By listening at this deeper level, we access more authentic, responsive, and creative ways of communicating. Instead of reacting from old patterns, we meet each moment freshly, sensing what wants to emerge rather than repeating what has already been. This retreat offers a space to reconnect with this bodily wisdom, where communication is not just about words but about presence, resonance, and the natural unfolding of deeper understanding.
About the host:
An Tionól Cottage : A Place of Gathering, Sensing, and Possibility.
For over 15 years, Marta Fabregat has welcomed people into An Tionól Cottage, a place where home, nature, and a deep sense of belonging create the conditions for something new to emerge. An Tionól, meaning The Gathering, is an invitation to pause, to listen, and to sense what becomes possible when we come together in presence, curiosity, and care.
Marta is a Focusing international Coordinator and has her own Training school, she works mainly from Co Galway but also offers her trainings in Turkey and Spain. She is the founder of Sensed Ecology, a training program that weaves Focusing, felt sensing, and the living intelligence of nature into an embodied way of being. Her work calls us to awaken to our own nature, to listen with our whole selves, and to step into fuller participation as nature beings, attuned to the rhythms of life, to each other, and to the next steps that arise from within.
At An Tionól Cottage, the land itself holds space for this unfolding. Whether in intimate trainings, immersive retreats, or quiet moments by the fire, this land offers a warm and grounded presence where deep listening becomes a gateway to transformation.
